Ideal preparation for the Whistler Cup
Whistler Cup Background
THE WHISTLER CUP is
an international ski event organized by the Whistler Ski Club and
hosted by Whistler-Blackcomb. Having completed its 21th year, Whistler
Cup has grown to become one of the largest and most important ski races
in North America, and internationally, for athletes aged 12 – 15 years.
It is held under the auspice of FIS, the
international governing body for alpine skiing. With over 400 young
athletes from more than 21 countries, Whistler Cup brings together
children from many different cultures, from around the world.
Whistler Cup is an important race for junior
athletes and sponsors not only in the US and Canada, but around the
world. For many of our young representative athletes, this is the first
opportunity they have to meet and ski with the world’s best for their
age group.
The 22nd edition of the Whistler Cup
will be held April 04, 05 and 06th 2013 at Whistler Mountain Resort in
British Columbia, Canada.
Our Pre-Camp
International Racer is proud to
provide a Whistler Cup pre-Camp for representative athletes to tune up
and get into the performance zone.
This is a full service training camp at Nakiska resort, just outside
Canmore. Race week will be at Whistler Blackcomb. Nakiska offers an
advanced training arena that matches the best training arenas in
Europe. It allows our coaches to prepare the athletes to offer their
best performance.

Conditions
0. OBA refers to "Organised by the Athlete",
although IR staff may assist with contact points or assist with
logistics
1. The fee is a strictly flat rate; No pro-rata
for missed days or race days is available.
2. Away
race costs are not included in the flat camp cost, this is the industry
standard practice as away race costs cannot be fixed.
3. Please review all extra conditions of training listed at bottom of
page.
4.
Non-scheduled airport pickup and deliveries are costed as an addition
to the set camp fee. Non-scheduled pickups can only be serviced where
resources are available to service the request. (Calgary airport is 1.5
hours drive from Canmore, so non-scheduled pickups are not trivial).
Pickup or delivery after 10:00 pm will incur an extra loading to cover
staff costs for that time period.
5.
International Racer reserves the right to refuse admittance or alter
groups based on numbers
6. All Canadian based camps must charge GST under Canadian Tax law.
International Racer is legally bound to collect 5% GST of the camp fee
as an exclusive cost.
7. Group places are limited, preference will be given to athletes who
want a full time program. Alternative dates will be considered on
application, but cannot be guaranteed
8. All athletes participate with the meal plan. Due to logistics and
the employment of cooking staff, excluding the meal plan is not
possible as IR has agreed to minimu numbers with our food provider.
9. Groups must have a minimum 6 athletes to run
10 Petrol costs for races beyond Lake Louise driving distance are not
included in standard camp costs, due to distance. These costs will be
costed with participants directly.
11. Free skiing at mountains other than Nakiska will be treated the
same as an away race. This will be costed seperately with participants.
eg Lake Louise
12. Athletes will be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner;
however, athletes are responsible for the purchase of personal snacks.
13. Full fees must be paid before the camp starts, the majority of our
costs are 3rd party and wages. IR is not able to be a credit provider
for athletes. IR cannot accept athletes who are not fully paid up. This
will be strictly enforced on 2011
14. When group number do not reach the minimum 6, existing participants
will be offered a private or group number rate.
15. Participants must be insured against the possibility of injury or
illness preventing training. Fees paid will not be returned, due to the
high percentage of 3rd party costs and guaranteed coach wages.
