Schedule
In 2014, racers will be able to enjoy an eight week program that
concentrates on using the excellent resources New Zealand offers to
progress the athletes skills towards races in New Zealand and their
northern winter programs.
We are setting up a more permanent New Zealand presence, because, we
believe New Zealand offers the right mix of training conditions for
effective tech progression and gives athletes the opportunity to
participate in races that often attract deep fields for quality
competition.
We expect to run the program between the following dates. July 20th to
September 20th 2014.
Open
To
* FIS (1997 born and older)
* College Racers
* U16
Professional Programs
International racer has been operating junior and FIS level alpine
camps for many years. Our camps run in New Zealand, Canada, South
America, Austria and Sweden. Athletes in our programs have made
excellent personal improvements.
Our New Zealand camp is designed for the ski racer who wants to keep
training momentum during summer and dedicate off season snow time to
improve their technique, fitness, skills and tactics.
Scheduled weekly training will involve GS and Slalom training followed
by afternoon dry land training and video to support their on snow
program.
We manage all the logistics to enable our athletes to maximize their
training and access all regional FIS level races.
Training Focus
The focus of the New Zealand camp is on the development, patterning,
and mastering of the technical skills.
Once mastered our goal is to then sequence technical skills from
outside the course along with tactical sequencing to within markers,
stubbies, gate corridors and finally a rhythmical sets.
Athletes on the New Zealand camp will have the opportunity to sequence
into full length courses with rhythm changes.
We estimate athletes perticipating in the 4 week program will do
14,000+ turns.
FIS Racing
Coronet Cup
Coronet
ANC Series - minimum (or close to) penalties for men and women,
as this is an ANC (Continental Cup) race.
Mt Hutt Speed Series
We are setting up a more permanent New Zealand presence, because, we
believe New Zealand offers the right mix of training conditions for
effective tech progression and gives athletes the opportunity to
participate in quality races with generally deep international fields
Training and racing along side national teams & some of the
best athletes in the world

(start at 1:30pm)

* 10-1pm session 2
* 1-4pm session 3
Every training day
* Pre-hab
* Movement prep / movement skills session
* 2+ on snow sessions

Round Hill Ski Hill
* Our primary training base is at Round Hill (www.roundhill.co.nz)
with additional training at Snow Park (SL) and Coronet Peak (SL-GS)
* Round Hill is located on Lake Tekapo, roughly half way between
Christchurch and Queenstown on New Zealand’s south island
* Round Hill is a small family owned area with a few t bars and a rope
tow (the steepest in the world believe it or not), laid back culture
(in typical New Zealand fashion with a bit of an Austrian flare) and
high level of service to ski racing.
* World Cup teams come back year in year out for good reason (4x world
cup teams are booked in for August 2013)
Features
of our Training Stadium
Super-fast
turnaround on t bars (surface lifts are unlikely to be affected by
wind, this is often an issue in the southern hemisphere)
Excellent
snow conditions (man-made & injected snow)
Terrain…Round Hill has an abundance of what most
coaches would refer to as learning terrain. Flat to moderate pistes
with consistent fall lines,
All day access to training lanes - 3x available
sessions per day (see the ‘Training’ header below for more information)
Perfect terrain for getting the work done…we will
build the skills & consistency at Round Hill and challenge on
the varied & slightly steeper terrain at Coronet Peak
Stable
weather pattern and western exposure makes for predictable weather and
consistently good snow conditions, all day long even on the warmest days
These factors combined with Round Hill’s laid back culture make it a
perfect training base for us. We ran a pilot project here last year,
and were very pleased…we are looking forward to basing ourselves here
for many years to come.
Program Goals
* Improve Performance…increase productivity
* Decrease injury potential…increase durability & longevity
* Increase motivation…do the work, no excuses
* Develop a practical plan…create strategies for success
* Create a balanced lifestyle… school – life – sport balance
* Develop long term relationships …athlete management is essential
Program Themes
* Culture
* Respect
* Work ethic
* Equality (one team)
* Individualized approach
* Community involvement
* Seamless integration between school and sport
* System based approach – systematic and sustainable program design
